Dialup Configuration Info

To configure your computer to connect to the Internet via jaguNET, you and your software need to know some parameters.

Here they are:

Domain Name: jaguNET.com

The Domain Name is, in effect, the name for the actual Network that you are using. Each connected computer has a hostname and domain name. For example, the computer www.jaguNET.com has a hostname of "www" and lives in the jaguNET.com domain.

Host Name:

Unless you selected a Static IP Address, leave this blank. The hostname itself is the name of the actual machine in the network.

IP Address:

We use Dynamic IP Address allocation. Set your Dialup IP settings to specify "Obtain IP Address Automatically".

Primary Domain Name Server: 209.133.192.7 (ns1.jaguNET.com)
Secondary Domain Name Server: 209.133.192.8 (ns2.jaguNET.com)
Secondary Domain Name Server: 209.133.192.2 (ns3.jaguNET.com)

These servers are used to convert computer hostnames into their actual Internet IP address.

SMTP Mail Server: dialupsmtp.jaguNET.com

This is the name of the server here at jaguNET that sends outgoing "SMTP" Email.

POPmail Server: pophost.jaguNET.com

Generally, it's far easier (and reliable) to have all mail collected on our POP3/IMAP server than to have mail forwarded directly to your machine. Your Email clients, such as Eudora, need to know the machine to contact that holds your mail. This is it. If you are one of our Web Publisher clients, your POP3 server may be different.

Web Server: www.jaguNET.com

This is the hostname of our World Wide Web server. You can easily produce your own WWW Home Pages which our server will make viewable by anyone on the 'Net.
Your URL for your homepage would be: http://users.jagunet.com/~yourname/

Dialup Numbers:

jaguNET provides nationwide dialup access. To find your local access number (or numbers), follow this link.

Account Name: name@jagunet.com

Next to your password, this is most likely the most important piece of information. You dialup account name is simply your username with "@jagunet.com" tacked on the end (yes, all characters should be in lower case). For many people, your account name is the exact same as your Email address.
